Standard scales usually communicate via RS232 or LAN. Connecting them directly to mobile terminals, however, can require long cable runs, converters, network configuration and additional setup.
QRindikator makes weight transfer simple. Connect the QRindikator to a supported RS232 scale and the current weight is displayed in a fixed format as a QR code. The mobile terminal simply scans the code and the application receives the value in the same consistent format every time.
RS232 scales from the following brands are currently supported. Support for additional scales will be added according to customer requirements.
The device supports pass-through power using standard DC 5.5/2.1 connectors, with negative polarity on the centre pin and a nominal voltage of 5–24 V.
Connect the scale's power supply to the QRindikator and use the supplied cable to continue the power connection to the scale. For scales using a different power supply, the QRindikator must be powered by a separate power source.
The device is normally connected using an RS232 cable, in the same way as when connecting the scale to a PC.
The cable for the specific type of scale is not included in the package.
When the positive weight value is stable, the QR code displays the value in grams with the prefix <HM: and the suffix >. The weight is represented using six digits without decimal places.
For example: <HM:012560> represents 12.56 kg.
